About
Welcome to Cafe Honeymoon, a charming oasis nestled within the stunning Honeymoon Island State Park in Dunedin, Florida. If you're looking for a delightful culinary experience paired with stunning ocean views, this is the place for you. The cafe is not only a dining destination but also a quaint gift shop that offers beach essentials, making it an ideal stop for both locals and tourists alike.
Imagine savoring a grilled chicken sandwich while witnessing dolphins gracefully glide through the waves—this is just a glimpse of what Cafe Honeymoon has to offer. Customers like Suelen Chimanski describe it as a "little piece of shopping in the middle of a gorgeous beach," providing the perfect blend of casual dining and shopping for beachgoers. The menu features a variety of basic yet satisfying options, including hot dogs, fries, and shrimp sandwiches, accompanied by refreshing beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
We can’t overlook the affordability, particularly when it comes to beer at just $3.50—an absolute steal! While some may find the food slightly pricier than expected, the ambiance and the swift service from the friendly staff contribute greatly to the overall experience. Erin Palmer notes the "helpful and kind" atmosphere, reinforcing the cafe's reputation as a welcoming space.
Moreover, the ambiance is enhanced by a lovely sundeck facing the Gulf, where you can soak in the sun while enjoying your meal. It's an idyllic setting, even if the nearby beach is rocky, as mentioned by Jelena Ristic. The convenience of on-site bathrooms and the quick service offered means you rarely have to stray far from this paradise. As Sue Roberts highlights, this cafe is a must-recommend, capturing the essence of a perfect beach day.
Ultimately, Cafe Honeymoon stands out as a perfect spot to recharge after a fun day on the beach. Whether it's the easygoing vibe, the friendly staff, or the delicious food, it checks all the boxes for a delightful coastal dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend making this café a part of your visit to Dunedin—you won't be disappointed!
“ A little piece of shopping in the middle of a gorgeous beach! Basic food and drinks and souvenirs for purchase. I love it! ”
“ I ate a grilled chicken sandwich and drank a wild berry smoothie while watching dolphins swim in the ocean. Food was a bit expensive for what it is but we expected that. Surprisingly a beer was only 3.50...not bad! The staff was helpful and kind, they served our food quickly. There is also a shop inside that sells beach basics, like towels and sunscreen and swimsuits. Prices were not too bad either. ”
“ Fast service, didn't wait too long! I liked the shrimps. Being close to the Cafe wasn't a good idea though, the beach has too much rocks... ”
“ Located inside Honeymoon Island St. Park. Very quaint cafe/gift shop. They sell drinks, adult and regular, hotdogs, fries, shrimp sandwiches... Nice sundeck facing the gulf. Bathrooms on site. Highly recommend. ”
“ Had a good time friendly staff, nice atmosphere ”
“ Great food for the price. Best scenery to eat outside that I have seen in a long time. Nice shady balcony to sit on. A cool breeze and a cold drink to get you cooled down from being in the sun for so long. Nice bathrooms inside the gift shop. Lots of accessories just invest you forgot anything and a great selection of beach type gifts that are unique to Honeymoon island. Great prices on hats and cookies. I collect cookies for my home to use by the pool and these always remind me of my times at the beach. When I go I always get the huge burger. It goes great with the salty air. ”
“ This is a very inexpensive way to spend the day. The park entry fee is reasonable and there is plenty of parking. you can enjoy the day at honeymoon or take the ferry over to Caladesi for and extra fee, but well worth the experience! ”
“ Beautiful beaches! This is such a nice place to go. You just have to keep an eye out for some large rocks in the water and sting rays. The beaches are white and lovely. ”
